After years of losing in the first-round of the playoffs, the Indiana Pacers missed the playoff entirely last season and now things are starting to unravel for this organization. Once a contender for the top-seed in the Eastern Conference, the Pacers have quickly slid down the rankings in the NBA and are on the verge of a full-scale rebuild.

Losing five of their last eight games and now 11-16 on the season, Indiana continues to struggle to find their identity and now with the NBA trade deadline about two months away, it seems like the Pacers could be the first team to make a monumental trade.

On Tuesday, The Athletic’s Shams Charania reported that the Indiana Pacers are moving toward a rebuild and that they are receptive to trade talks centered on Caris LeVert and either Domantas Sabonis or Myles Turner.

This really is not shocking to hear because of all the disappointment that has come out of Indiana through the years. Injuries have played a role in their demise, but this team just has not played well together and they need change.

LATEST NBA NEWS & TRADE RUMORS: Brandon Ingram Addresses His Future With New Orleans Pelicans

Malcolm Brogdon recently signed an extension this past offseason that keeps him under contract in Indiana through the 2024-25 season, so he is not going anywhere, but Turner, LeVert and Sabonis are all players who could very well be on the move for a ton of future value.

Heading to the Western Conference, the New Orleans Pelicans find themselves in a similar position as the Pacers in regards to underachieving expectations placed on them. Zion Williamson being out with a foot injury has limited the Pelicans’ overall success, but they too are a team who could look to add a ton of value to their roster.

While he has not formally requested a trade, there have been some quiet rumors about Brandon Ingram’s future in New Orleans. With them currently 7-20 and being in last-place in the Western Conference, the young All-Star could very well want to go somewhere where he has a chance to compete and win games.

Let’s take a look at a trade proposal put together by Bleacher Report’s Zach Buckley that not only involved Ingram, but Myles Turner and Caris LeVert as well.
