Indiana Pacers
Starting the year just 9-15, the Indiana Pacers have really struggled to get anything going and their playoff hopes are starting to fade away. Rick Carlisle is definitely not to blame for this team’s recent misfortune, as he is a great head coach, but the Pacers just do not have the right personnel on their roster.
Malcolm Brogdon, Domantas Sabonis, Caris LeVert and Myles turner are all great talents in this league for the Pacers, but these four guys just do not gel well together. Brogdon and Sabonis provide a nice “one-two” scoring punch, but LeVert’s isolation style of play seems to interfere with Brogdon being the primary facilitator for this team and Turner is more of a defensive styled player.
While they may not want to give up either Myles Turner or Caris LeVert yet, trading both of these guys for CJ McCollum could definitely wind up paying off for the Pacers’ chances of making the playoffs.
The Indiana Pacers just needs another reliable ball-handler and scorer, which is exactly what McCollum has turned himself into.
LATEST NBA NEWS & TRADE RUMORS: Could Blazers Look To Trade CJ McCollum After Firing GM?
A borderline All-Star, CJ McCollum could be another primary scorer next to Brogdon and Sabonis on this Pacers’ roster, as well as be a facilitator on the floor when Brogdon is not in the game.
Averaging 4.5 assists since the start of the 2019-20 season and posting a 2.69 assist-to-turnover ratio in this same timespan, McCollum is more than capable of creating for both himself and others on the floor, making him a perfect fit in the Pacers’ backcourt.
As for Portland, getting Caris LeVert and Myles Turner in a potential trade package from the Pacers for CJ McCollum is not a terrible trade-off either since LeVert would replace McCollum’s offensive production and Turner would be an anchor for this team defensively.
Not to mention, with the addition of Turner, the Blazers could possibly look to move Jusuf Nurkic, who is in the final year of his contract, for more overall talent either on the wing or in the backcourt.

Both the Blazers and Pacers are in need of making a big move prior to the trade deadline if they are going to try and make something of this season, which is why a CJ McCollum trade is not out of play for either of these two teams.
