The Brooklyn Nets are having a great 2021-22 NBA season thus far as they sit atop the Eastern Conference with a record of 15-6. However, it is fair to question if their success is something that can be sustained throughout the regular season.

Brooklyn is relying heavily on Kevin Durant and James Harden to carry the load for the team as Kyrie Irving remains away from the team. Irving is healthy enough to play, but because of the mandates in New York City, he is ineligible to play in games at Barclays Center or Madison Square Garden. As long as he remains unvaccinated and the mandate isn’t adjusted, he will remain ineligible.

The Nets have navigated things well thus far without him, but it is going to get tougher without Joe Harris in the lineup. Harris underwent surgery on his ankle earlier this week and will be sidelined for four to eight weeks.

He is an integral part of the Brooklyn Nets; game plan, which has become very perimeter orientated offensively. Brooklyn was already struggling to beat the upper echelon teams in the league.
