Between all the drama surrounding Damian Lillard and their coaching search this past NBA offseason, the Portland Trail Blazers had a hard time finding stability on their roster. They are not a terrible team, as they are currently 11-11 on the year, but it is hard to imagine that this team has what it takes to make a deep playoff run like they did not too long ago in 2019.
Damian Lillard has struggled to begin the year, Norman Powell has been dealing with some injuries and while CJ McCollum has been a steady producer of scoring on offense, it is hard to say this about anybody else on Portland’s roster.
Jusuf Nurkic and Robert Covington are really solid secondary talents in the frontcourt for this team, but neither player has really been fantastic and they seem to be holding the Blazers back a bit.
Both Nurkic and Covington are in the final years of their contracts, making them potential trade assets for the Trail Blazers this season.

The moves they can potentially make are limited because of their cap situation, but at some point, the Portland Trail Blazers are going to have to make a move for more talent because right now, they are trending towards losing in the first-round of the playoffs yet again, that is if they make it to the playoffs at this rate!
Portland is not a strong rebounding team and they rank just 18th in the league in points in the paint, which is why adding another frontcourt talent could be highly advantageous to this team. Marvin Bagley III is a player on the trade block in Sacramento and could be someone the Trail Blazers have their eyes on.
Drafted second overall by Sacramento in 2018, Marvin Bagley has played well when on the court early on in his career, but he has seemed to have a falling out with the Kings. Most of his problems could have been with Luke Walton, who is no longer the head coach of the team, but Bagley is in the final year of his rookie contract and it is a long-shot to believe that he will want to return to the Kings next season.

Seeing as they have missed the playoffs for 15 consecutive seasons and do not look much better than they did last season, the Kings risk losing Bagley for absolutely nothing, which is why they need to move him for something.
The Blazers do not have a lot to offer up, but there may just be one scenario that could work out for both sides. Let’s take a look at a trade proposal put together by ESPN’s Kevin Pelton that sends Marvin Bagley III to Portland.
