Kyle Anderson – Memphis Grizzlies

With Ja Morant out for the foreseeable future with a knee sprain, a lot of the weight for this Grizzlies franchise falls on the shoulders of Dillon Brooks and Jaren Jackson Jr., but also onto key rotational guys like Desmond Bane and Kyle Anderson.

As a result, the Grizzlies may not be too willing to give up their veteran wing right now, but Kyle Anderson is in the final year of his contract and is a player that was brought up by other teams in trade talks with Memphis this past offseason.

Being able to take on multiple different roles for his team, Kyle Anderson really is kind of like a “Swiss Army knife” type of player. He can hold his own defensively on the wing and Anderson averaged a career-high 3.6 assists per game last season.

The Celtics could easily absorb Anderson’s contract due to their trade exceptions, but this is not necessarily a move that is worthwhile. Having another body at either forward position gives this team more depth, but Boston needs scorers, something Kyle Anderson really isn’t that big of a scoring threat.

His 12.4 points per game last season was a career-high and the first-time that he averaged double-digit scoring numbers in a season. So far this year, Kyle Anderson is only averaging 7.9 points per game and is shooting 42.9% from the floor.

Again, he is another guy the Boston Celtics could utilize for bench depth and they would get production from him, but this just does not seem like a move that would push the Celtics into contention. For that reason, this trade probably is not worthwhile, especially given the price they would have to pay to acquire Kyle Anderson from the Grizzlies.

Verdict: Pass
