Why This Trade Makes Sense For The Philadelphia 76ers

Russell Westbrook has become one of the most polarizing players in the NBA. One side believes he is a legitimate superstar, while the other views him as a complete waste of a roster spot. There are very few people who sit in between those ways of thinking.

A trade to the 76ers would be a very intriguing move for Westbrook. Philadelphia would be replacing Ben Simmons with a much more dynamic offensive talent. Would that fit alongside Joel Embiid?

That is the one question that the 76ers would have to answer before pulling the trigger on this deal. However, it seems likely that the two players would vibe well and compete hard together. Embiid and Westbrook both want to win, no matter the cost, and that could be the driving force that takes the Sixers back to being contenders.

Philadelphia would be losing the elite defense that Simmons provides when he’s on the court, but once again, he isn’t playing. This deal with the Lakers would give the 76ers talent. That is something that they have obviously needed this season.
