2. Quentin Grimes Minutes

Tom Thibodeau said one of the reasons that Kemba Walker was removed from the lineup was that he wanted to tighten up the rotation. Walker was playing 24.5 minutes per game this season, so those minutes will be up for grabs.

Alec Burks will likely see a small uptick in minutes as the starting point guard, but if Thibodeau does stick with a 10 man rotation, it will likely be Quentin Grimes getting the first shot. Grimes was the 25th overall pick in the 2021 NBA Draft out of Houston.

Grimes drew some comparisons to former New York Knicks sharpshooter Allan Houston for his clean form. He is the prototypical Thibs guy as he gets after it defensively as well.

He will provide the rotation with some more size and length, as playing three smaller guards was another thing Thibodeau mentioned as being tough to do. Standing 6’4” with a 6’8” wingspan, he provides the team with another versatile defender on the perimeter.

His defensive performance is likely what drew Thibodeau to him. It will be nice to see him as a regular part of the team’s rotation going forward.
