Bol Bol – Denver Nuggets
One of the biggest unknowns in the NBA in regards to what a player can become and what role he will serve is Nuggets’ big man Bol Bol.
Drafted 44th overall in 2019 by Denver, Bol has spent a lot of time on the bench and practicing with the Nuggets developmental staff to become a possible back-up option behind Nikola Jokic.
The 22-year-old big man has not seen much time whatsoever at the NBA level and in the final year of his rookie contract, he is still a big unknown in terms of what role he can play for a team like the Nuggets.
In Las Vegas Summer League this past summer, Bol Bol was fantastic for the Nuggets and was one of the best big men on the floor in Summer League! He only played in 3 games, but in those games, Bol Bol averaged 21.7 points, 6.7 rebounds, 2.3 blocks and shot 44.2% from the floor.

Standing 7’2”, Bol is definitely a lengthy shot-blocker in the lane, but there are concerns about his physicality and strength.
If the Pelicans can trade for him at a low-cost, they might as well since there is still potential with a player like Bol Bol given his height, but he is not someone the Pelicans should go out of their way to pursue.
Denver is not going to want to give him up right now, so the Pelicans would have to likely give up first-round talent for him, and his fit in New Orleans would be questionable.

They have Jonas Valanciunas as their starting center who plays 30-plus minutes per game and with both Jaxson Hayes and Willy Hernangomez behind him, it is hard to picture where Bol Bol would fit into this equation.
This trade really brings no upside to the Pelicans, which is why going after another center really does nothing for New Orleans’ chances of potentially making the playoffs this year.
