Dejounte Murray – San Antonio Spurs
Adding another high-level guard to their team could have some big-time benefits for Philadelphia, which is why Dejounte Murray could be a player they highly value in a trade with the Spurs. The young point guard has had some ups and downs early on in his career, but Murray is starting to come into his own as a guard on-the-rise in this league.
Through 16 games this season, Murray is averaging 18.1 points, 8.3 rebounds, 8.0 assists, 2.1 steals and has shot 44.3% from the floor. Having the ability to score, facilitate and be a factor defensively, Dejounte Murray is what every team is looking for in a franchise point guard.
There really is not anything this young guard cannot do and while San Antonio may not want to give him up, they could be willing to talk about potential trades if Ben Simmons is available. The Spurs were one of several teams to inquire about and show interest in Simmons this past offseason, so it is possible Murray could be a talking point in said trade talks.
Seeing as they have had to deal with a lot of players being out so far this season, the 76ers ranking 3rd in offensive rating is really impressive, but their 24th overall ranking in defensive rating needs to be fixed if they are to be a championship contender.

Adding Dejounte Murray not only makes this team better defensively, but creates a young, dynamic two-guard lineup with him and Tyrese Maxey. Seeing as Maxey has played well as this team’s featured point guard, maybe the 76ers would not want to screw up what they have built in their backcourt, but there is no denying that Murray would help them excel more than they have from a pure talent standpoint.
