Does this trade make sense for the Orlando Magic?
While they would probably like to get a first-round pick for Terrence Ross, the Orlando Magic should be more than happy to trade him for a player like Zeke Nnaji and a second-round pick this year.
Ross has been an important mentor for the young guys on this Orlando roster, but at the end of the day, his time there is coming to an end. The organization needs to trade him for value while they can and they will certainly get more value from Denver than they would have from keeping Terrence Ross through the end of this season.
The Magic acquired R.J. Hampton and Gary Harris from Denver last year when they traded Aaron Gordon to the Nuggets and now, they could gain another valuable young player from the Nuggets in Zeke Nnaji to help bolster their froncourt.
Having Jonathan Isaac, Chuma Okeke, Mo Bamba and Wendell Carter Jr., it is hard to see where Nnaji would fit in with the Magic, but they would be presented with two options. They could either keep him and try to integrate him in their frontcourt or they could move him or another young frontcourt talent for more future value.

Orlando is in a good spot right now as an organization because they have options with their young talents. They have a variety of talented, young players that they can begin to build with for the future, which is why Terrence Ross is no longer needed.
He is only taking playing time away from these young guys and when both Markelle Fultz and Jonathan Isaac return from injuries, minutes will be hard to spread around in Orlando. This trade is not the best deal the Magic could get involving Terrence Ross, but they definitely get value that will help them now and in the future.
