1. Dwane Casey
There are a lot of things working against Detroit Pistons head coach Dwane Casey that could make him the next coach to be handed a pink slip in the NBA. For starters, he wasn’t whom current general manager Troy Weaver hired.
Weaver has cleaned house when it comes to the roster, as Killian Hayes is the longest-tenured Piston. Casey received a one-year extension, but Weaver could look to bring in his own head coach this offseason.
Another thing working against him is that the Pistons team just isn’t performing at a high level. Yes, the Pistons have one of the youngest rosters in the NBA, meaning there will be some growing pains. After going 41-41 in his first season as head coach of the team, the Pistons have won only 44 games since then.
The Pistons put up back-to-back 20 win campaigns in 2019-20 and 2020-21, and are ottery bound once again. But, that was the plan that the front office put into place and they knew there would be a lot of losing.

With everyone on the same page, Casey may get more leeway than a coach normally would in his situation. But, the Pistons have to show some positive progression or a head coaching change could be made.
