The Portland Trail Blazers and their fans held their collective breaths throughout the NBA offseason waiting to see what superstar point guard Damian Lillard would do. There were plenty of reports stating that Lillard would eventually request a trade from the team, looking for a new start and team that could get him closer to winning an NBA championship.

That request never came, and Lillard has been adamant that he does not want to leave the team. He loves Portland and wants to win there, having the old school mentality that he wants to remain with one team and not create a super team.

It is admirable of Lillard to feel that way and in some ways refreshing.

But, as long as the Trail Blazers do not look like title contenders, people will still discuss the possibility of trade no matter how adamant he is that he is going nowhere.
