Oklahoma City Thunder Receive: G Jarrett Culver, LAL 2024 2nd Round Pick (via MEM)

In order to have a shot at acquiring Brandon Ingram, the Memphis Grizzlies are going to have to be willing to part ways with several key, young talents on their roster. Dillon Brooks could very well be one of those players that would have to be on the move, but for now, he will not be included in this trade scenario.

Kyle Anderson, De’Anthony Melton, Brandon Clarke, and Jarrett Culver combine to make $27.8M this season, so all four guys would have to be on the move if the Grizzlies were to take on Ingram’s max contract.

There are no indications that Brandon Ingram wants out of New Orleans right now, but this fit with the Grizzlies would make too much sense for Memphis to pass up.

Next to Ja Morant, the Grizzlies would have two All-Stars to build with and if they could keep Dillion Brooks, then they would have him, Jaren Jackson Jr., Steven Adams, and Desmond Bane as key secondary talents.

How the Memphis Grizzlies would fill out the rest of their bench would be the main question after this trade, but Kenrich Williams would be a really solid bench addition for this team and they would still have rookie Ziaire Williams, Tyus Jones, and Xavier Tillman.

Adding another elite-level scorer is something Memphis will need to do at some point, so why not pull the trigger now while they have the draft assets and moveable contracts?

As for New Orleans, if Ingram forces his way out, then they are going to have to try and get as much value for him as they can. Maybe Kyle Anderson gets rerouted somewhere else for a draft pick, but De’Anthony Melton and Brandon Clarke are two young players the New Orleans Pelicans could utilize.

Melton has begun coming into his own as a scoring-first guard in this league and Clarke is an athletic forward that could supply the Pelicans with some much-needed frontcourt depth behind Zion Williamson. Adding more first-round draft compensation allows the Pelicans to continue finding ways to add high-level talents through the draft as well, especially since they have a ton of picks through the years via Milwaukee, Los Angeles, and others.

Depending on what other teams are offering for Ingram depends on whether or not New Orleans would be interested in this deal, but Anderson, Melton, Clarke, and three first-round picks definitely brings a lot of value to the New Orleans Pelicans as an organization.
