The Brooklyn Nets made the tough decision to hold Kyrie Irving out until he can be eligible to be a full-time player with the team and get vaccinated. Now, they will have to figure out the next step.
Rescinding the contract extension is one sign that they are not interested in retaining Irving long-term anymore. If that is the case, trading him for something before he opts out of his contract and leaves as a free agent next offseason is one way to go.
