How This Trade Impacts Los Angeles Lakers
If the Los Angeles Lakers are going to trade Russell Westbrook, they are going to be looking to get good depth back to fill out the roster. They surrendered a lot of quality depth acquiring him and would be looking to replenish it. This deal with the New York Knicks would accomplish that.
Derrick Rose and Evan Fournier would give the Lakers two more excellent sources of offense. They can create for themselves or their teammates and are deadly shooters from the perimeter.
Rose has altered his shooting form and it has worked, as he is now someone teams cannot leave alone on the perimeter. He knocked down 41.1 percent of his 3-point attempts in the regular season with the Knicks after being acquired from the Detroit Pistons and is shooting a scorching 57.9 percent thus far this season.
He could handle the starting point guard duties or come off the bench as an offensive spark. Fournier would be an excellent fit alongside LeBron James and Anthony Davis. He is a great shooter and has shown a willingness to get after it defensively thus far with the Knicks.

Kevin Knox II would be added to help match salaries. He has not developed as hoped since being the No. 9 overall pick in the 2018 NBA Draft. Los Angeles would be taking a flyer on the 22-year old who could maybe unlock some of his potential on the veteran-laden team.
Adding that kind of depth to the backcourt and wing would be the goal for the Lakers in any deal they make involving Westbrook.
