Would this trade make sense for the Washington Wizards?

The Washington Wizards have a decision to make regarding Bradley Beal. It was clear that the marriage with Russell Westbrook was not long-term. The same cannot be said about Beal as he has spent his entire career with the Wizards and refuses to request a trade. If he is still in town, the Wizards should put some more names with him.

This is where Jerami Grant comes into play. He is one of the more versatile players in the league because of his work on both ends. Grant is a true ‘3-and-D’ player and can get it done in many ways.

Grant averaged 22.3 points per game this season for Detroit and proved that he could be the focal point of an offense. Now that we have seen that production, the Pistons could look to take advantage of the value. He is off to a slower start to the 2021-22 season, but regardless, would be a helpful player for the Wizards to acquire.

Washington is still rebuilding but knows they can potentially make a run in the Eastern Conference with the right pieces. Westbrook is gone and Beal could have Grant as his next partner.

This would shake things up near the bottom of the Eastern Conference. Washington will be hard to ignore if Grant is acquired and they potentially make another move to add some depth.
