Would this trade make sense for the Utah Jazz?

The Utah Jazz has been a championship contender for years now but has not taken that step just yet. Utah finished as the top team in the West last season and that was a major improvement.

Now, it is about getting through the Western Conference and into the NBA Finals.

Kyrie Irving can help the Jazz to achieve their lofty goals right away. Both Donovan Mitchell and Rudy Gobert are locked down long-term and this means the core can remain together for the Jazz for years to come.

Irving is looking for a contract extension and it is likely that he wants to play for a contender. Irving has been unable to remain on the floor for a multitude of reasons and this is the major concern for any team making a deal, but swinging big on a ‘Kawhi Leonard-esque’ one-year rental could pay major dividends, too.

If Irving is able to stay on the floor, Irving is an elite player with championship experience that can help the Jazz. This would be a bit of a gamble for the Jazz but when looking at what they would give up, it makes sense.
