3 Teams Who Should Try To Trade For Pelicans’ Josh Hart

There has not been a lot to get excited about when it comes to the New Orleans Pelicans in the 2021-22 season. They have the worst record in the NBA at 1-10 and it doesn’t look like things will turn around any time soon.

Zion Williamson is still weeks away from returning to the court and making his season debut. By the time he returns, the Pelicans will likely have dug themselves a hole too deep to get out of. Brandon Ingram has also missed time, putting New Orleans way behind the eight ball.

One player who has been a bright spot for the team thus far is Josh Hart. Hart re-signed with the Pelicans this offseason, agreeing to a three-year deal worth just under $38 million. He does a little bit of everything for the team and is the quintessential glue guy.

Hart is averaging 12 points per game, which would be a career-high. Part of the reason for the increase in scoring is the improvement in efficiency, as he is making 57.1 percent of his shot attempts overall and 38.9 percent of his 3-pointers.

He is filling the stat sheet elsewhere as he normally does as well. The Villanova product is averaging six rebounds and 2.6 assists per game as well. The assists would also be a career-high.

With the team floundering, the Pelicans could look to make some moves and sell some pieces. Hart could be someone on the move, as there were rumors about him being involved in sign-and-trade deals over the offseason.

If the team looks to move him once his restrictions are lifted in March, here are three teams who should try to acquire him.
