Ben Simmons-Jaylen Brown Trade Talks
On Monday, The Athletic’s Shams Charania reported about the 76ers continuing to look for ways to trade Ben Simmons and noted that the Boston Celtics have been in contact with the Sixers in regards to the 3x All-Star.
Boston has not begun the 2021-22 season like they had hoped and right now, this team does not look like one that can win a first-round playoff series.
First-time head coach Ime Udoka has had some early season growing pains with his new team and while there is optimism that they can turn things around, there seems to be a sense of frustration within this Boston organization.
Brad Stevens proved this offseason that he is not afraid to make some big moves, as he moved Kemba Walker, Evan Fourneir, Tristan Thompson and others in multiple trades, so could he look to make one that would change the trajectory of this Celtics’ organization for years to come?

The 76ers are willing to discuss trade opportunities revolving around Ben Simmons with the Celtics, but they are asking for Jaylen Brown in return. Last season, Brown made his first All-Star appearance of his career and while he has missed some time early on this season, he has been just as effective, if not better, offensively.
Boston’s duo of Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum has been terrific together on both ends of the court, so why would the Celtics potentially make this trade for Ben Simmons?
The drama surrounding the 76ers and Ben Simmons remains high, but at the same time, the Sixers have seemed to find a way to win games without him. Currently 8-4 on the year, the 76ers are still one of the top teams in the Eastern Conference, so it is very clear to see that Tyrese Maxey, Shake Milton and Furkan Korkmaz in the rotation gives this team a better chance to win.
Whether or not they can win a championship without Ben Simmons remains a big question, but if they were able to add Jaylen Brown, Philadelphia would immediately become title favorites in the Eastern Conference.

Who knows if this is actually the case with the Celtics and if they are interested in Ben Simmons to the point where they would relinquish Brown, who has been untouchable in trade talks all of these year, but this is definitely one of the main trade rumors to keep tabs on throughout the next month or so.
