The Philadelphia 76ers are seemingly becoming more frustrated by the day with the Ben Simmons situation. After Simmons and members of the organization had a meeting that also involved his teammates, Simmons revealed that he is dealing with mental health-related things and wasn’t mentally prepared to return to the court.
It was something everyone was very understanding of, as the team even stopped fining him for missed practices and games. But, things took a turn for the worse last week, as the 76ers have begun fining him again.
Simmons has refused any help from the organization in terms of physicians and doctors to help him improve his mental well-being. Philadelphia believes they have done everything they can and the fines are starting up again.
At this point, it seems like we won’t see Simmons in a 76ers uniform again anytime soon. But, there is still a chance we see him take the floor with another team in the league.

Simmons would still like to be traded at some point to another franchise. There are a number of teams that would like to acquire him and a new one has emerged recently; the Boston Celtics.
According to The Athletic, the Celtics have had some conversions with the 76ers on trade talks centered around Simmons. Jaylen Brown, the Celtics budding superstar, would have to be involved in the trade.
“The Boston Celtics have engaged in conversations with the 76ers revolving around Simmons and expressed interest in the 6-foot-11 guard, sources tell The Athletic. Talks have been fluid with no traction as of yet, those sources say. Any potential Simmons deal with the Celtics would have to include All-Star forward Jaylen Brown, an ascending talent who is in the midst of another career season, averaging 25.6 points, 6.1 rebounds and 2.5 assists.”
This would be a huge trade for the Philadelphia 76ers and Boston Celtics to make. The outlook of each franchise would be changed drastically, as Ben Simmons and Jaylen Brown are both young All-Stars that could have another level for their games to be taken to.

For the Philadelphia 76ers, Brown represents the exact kind of player they are looking to acquire in a deal involving Simmons. Outside of their dream scenario of landing Damian Lillard, it likely wouldn’t get better than Brown as the centerpiece of the package coming back to Philadelphia.
