How This Trade Impacts Toronto Raptors
The Toronto Raptors are in a rebuilding phase despite wanting to win now. Pascal Siakam will be looking to pull off a bounce-back season, OG Anunoby is considered a breakout candidate, and there’s excitement about Scottie Barnes. However, their projection for this season isn’t great.
There isn’t much point in keeping Goran Dragic for long when considering he is playing on an expiring contract. He will likely depart in free agency if he were to remain on the roster throughout the whole season.
Coby White would be afforded the chance to work his way back and continue developing with the Raptors. Touches will be hard to come by with the revamped Chicago backcourt.
The Raptors could keep Fred VanVleet at the shooting guard spot and have White along with Malachi Flynn as point guard options to develop long-term.
