The Orlando Magic have gotten off to a slow start this NBA season, which was expected by many people. They are 2-6 in the early going, as this season is more focused on developing the young guys on the team more so than contending for a playoff spot.

Orlando has plenty of youngsters they are excited about. They selected Jalen Suggs and Franz Wagner in the first round of the 2021 NBA Draft and have plenty of first-round picks from recent seasons in Mo Bamba, Cole Anthony, and R.J. Hampton. The team is also patiently waiting for the return of Jonathan Isaac to the rotation.

The young players have shown some flashes in the early going despite the wins not being there. It is encouraging for the organization and their fans that the young players do not look overwhelmed.

One player who has yet to truly get going is Terrence Ross. Ross is the lone veteran that remained with the team beyond the trade deadline in March. Nikola Vucevic, Aaron Gordon, and Evan Fournier were all traded, but the team didn’t find a landing spot for Ross.
