Pascal Siakam – Toronto Raptors

Injury: Shoulder Surgery – Expected Return: Sunday vs, Brooklyn Nets

In the offseason, Raptors’ All-Star forward Pascal Siakam underwent shoulder surgery to repair a torn left labrum. This surgery was done during the first week of June and initially, the timetable for his return to the court was said to be about five months.

This would put us looking at a potential return date of early/mid-November, which ended up being precisely the case. So far, the word out of Toronto has been really good in regards to Pascal Siakam’s recovery, and recently, he has begun practicing with the team.

On November 2, Pascal Siakam’s agent Todd Ramasar spoke with Justin Termine of SiriusXM and stated that the All-Star would likely be good to go within the next two weeks. This is going to be a big boost to a Toronto Raptors team that many thought would struggle to begin the year, but are surprisingly 6-3 to start the season. Now, it’s been reported that he intends to make his season debut on Sunday against the Brooklyn Nets.

Without Kyle Lowry, Fred VanVleet and OG Anunoby have been the leaders of this young Raptors team, but they have also received some much-needed help from their rookie first-round pick. Scottie Barnes has been better than advertised for Toronto this season and it is going to be very interesting to see how he fits into the rotations with Pascal Siakam when he returns to the court.

Given how well he has played to begin his rookie season, it is hard to imagine that the Raptors will look to cut his minutes, so who will be doing the sacrificing in terms of their minutes decreasing on this team? Anunoby, Barnes, and Achiuwa have all been great for the Raptors at the forward positions and in their frontcourt, making this decision for Nick Nurse with Pascal Siakam coming back very difficult.

Once again looking like a real playoff threat in the Eastern Conference, the Toronto Raptors will be getting a big boost on Saturday when Pascal Siakam makes
