2. New York Knicks
The New York Knicks are in a great position to make a splash trade eventually. They have done a great job keeping their books clean and have added to their draft capital. The pieces are there for Leon Rose and Scott Perry to make a blockbuster, it is just a matter of figuring out who they want to target.
Eventually, Karl-Anthony Towns could emerge as someone the New York Knicks go after. Towns has experience playing under head coach Tom Thibodeau already. While things didn’t always go smoothly during their time together in Minnesota, there is no denying the level of talent that Towns has.
Towns is arguably the best offensive center in the NBA. He can score from anywhere on the court, whether it is posting up smaller players in the paint or blowing by bigger defenders from the perimeter. He is also a good 3-point shooter, knocking down 39.7 percent of his attempts from long distance in his career.
His defense leaves something to be desired, which is likely where the issues with Thibodeau stemmed, but being a little more mature now, maybe he would be more willing to buy in.

The Knicks have a good thing going and would present Towns his first real chance at being on a winning team while playing in New York, too. They have turned things around recently with the new brain trust in place and could take things to another level with a player of Towns’ stature manning the middle.
