Every time a new NBA season begins, there is always a lot of chatter about how each team is performing. So far this year, the Eastern Conference has been in the news a lot because of all the “surprise” teams in that conference. 

Coming into the new year, the Milwaukee Bucks and Brooklyn Nets were the two “teams to beat” in the East, but almost through the first 10% of the season, other teams have really stepped up in big ways. 

The Charlotte Hornets, New York Knicks, Washington Wizards, and Chicago Bulls have surprised everyone by being some of the better teams in the league record-wise and they have shown no signs of slowing down just yet. 

In the Western Conference, the Utah Jazz and Golden State Warriors look like two key teams to beat this year, if they can remain healthy, and both the Timberwolves and Grizzlies have looked impressive at times with their young cores.
