2. Dallas Mavericks

The Dallas Mavericks are currently 4-2, which would normally be something to get excited about. However, there are a lot of issues that need ironing out in Dallas should they be as competitive as they think they are capable of being.

They are currently the only team in the NBA that has a winning record with a negative point differential. That is not going to be sustainable for a few weeks, let alone the duration of an 82-game regular season. Dallas has an expected record of 2-4, so they are lucky to have as many wins as they do.

The Dallas Mavericks have performed better on defense so far, ranking 12th in defensive rating. But, the offense has tanked, as they are currently 27th in offensive rating despite having Luka Doncic leading the way.

Jason Kidd will have to figure things out on that end of the court, otherwise, the losses will start piling up. Getting Kristaps Porzingis on track is also imperative, as he is one again struggling with injuries and effectiveness when on the court.
