Pascal Siakam Finds A New Home In Los Angeles

Starting the new NBA season 1-4 is definitely not what head coach Ty Lue envisioned for the Los Angeles Clippers, even though they knew they were going to be without Kawhi Leonard. Paul George has been fantastic and is once again proving why he is a perennial All-Star in this league, but the Clippers are just missing so much production without Kawhi on the floor.

Seeing as Leonard is not going to be back on the court until sometime near Spring 2022 due to ACL surgery this offseason, the Clippers are really going to have to either step up their play or go out and acquire another big name. They could realistically turn things around with what they have, but Los Angeles would be smart to just leverage what they have to try and form a new “Big 3” of All-Stars.

With Paul George and Kawhi Leonard on the floor and healthy, this Clippers organization has always been a great offensive and defensive team, so why not add one of the better two-way forwards in the league with Pascal Siakam?

Right now, it does not appear that the Toronto Raptors are actively looking to trade Siakam, but executive Masai Ujiri is always interested in taking offers for his guys and could be inclined to look at trades involving Pascal Siakam more carefully this year, especially with the emergence of rookie Scottie Barnes.

With Barnes, Anunoby and Achiuwa all playing well for Toronto to begin the year, this Raptors team could look to leverage Pascal Siakam for more future assets to continue building a championship contender for the future. Siakam is currently out right now due to offseason shoulder surgery, but his role on this team seems to be declining each day that Scottie Barnes plays.

The Clippers do not have many assets that they can offer up to pull off a blockbuster trade for Pascal Siakam, but they could wind up leveraging guys like Marcus Morris Sr., Nicolas Batum, Eric Bledsoe, Luke Kennard, and/or Ivica Zubac to make this deal a reality.

A third or fourth team would absolutely have to be pulled into this deal to make Siakam going to Los Angeles happen, but it is not crazy to believe that the Clippers would look to acquire him. It is not crazy to think that the Raptors would trade Pascal Siakam either given that their young players have been so good to begin the 2021-22 season.

With Kyle Lowry gone and the franchise heading in a new direction with their young assets, the Toronto Raptors could be a team that looks to be active once again at the trade deadline in regards to their All-Star talent. Watch for the Los Angeles Clippers to make a big move at some point during this NBA season.
