San Antonio Spurs Add Marvin Bagley III

Picked to finish near the bottom of the league standings this year, the San Antonio Spurs have been a very competitive team this season. Their biggest loss of the season was against the Milwaukee Bucks, a game in which they lost by 10 points, but this game was tied in the fourth quarter at one point and the Spurs trailed by just 4 points with a little over four minutes to go! 

San Antonio has been in every single game they have played this season and they are a team who could very well end up being the surprise team in the Western Conference. 

Gregg Popovich is one of the best coaches in NBA history and while his team is one of the youngest and least experienced in the league, they could look to add some more talent at some point in attempts to sneak into the play-in tournament. 

Marvin Bagley III and the Sacramento Kings have not seen eye-to-eye lately and it seems like the former No. 2 overall pick could be getting dealt soon. Sources have told NBA Analysis Network that the Kings are open to trading Bagley for “first-round talent” and the San Antonio Spurs definitely have some assets to offer up.

Not only do they have a first-round pick in every single draft moving forward, but the Spurs also have some young talents like Lonnie Walker IV, Devin Vassell, Tre Jones, and others that they could potentially offer up to try and land Bagley from Sacramento. 

While injuries have been a problem early on in his career, Bagley is a difference-maker at the power forward position and is athletic enough to fit in perfectly in a system led by young, athletic talents like Keldon Johnson and Dejounte Murray. The San Antonio Spurs’ frontcourt is a mess right now and with them looking to trade Thaddeus Young, maybe they could even move the veteran to Sacramento for Marvin Bagley III.
