This Kings-Pelicans Trade Sends Marvin Bagley III To NOLA

Without Zion Williamson out to begin the 2021-22 NBA season, the New Orleans Pelicans have started off relatively slow given the expectations put on this team in the offseason, which is why they could be interested in making a move to add more talent at some point early on this season.

The Sacramento Kings and Marvin Bagley III have not been seeing eye-to-eye on everything lately and after not extending him prior to the start of the season, it seems like Sacramento could look to trade Bagley at some point this season.

In New Orleans frontcourt, Jonas Valanciunas is their newest addition who has been a rebounding machine so far, picking up where he left off with the Grizzlies last season, but this team really does not have much depth next to Brandon Ingram and Zion Williamson at the power forward position.

Zion’s absence is a big loss for this team, but even with him healthy and on the court, they still do not have much frontcourt depth on their roster. Trading for Marvin Bagley III definitely has its advantages for a team like the Pelicans and they could actually acquire him at some point this season.

Recently, sources have told NBA Analysis Network that the Sacramento Kings are willing to discuss trade packages involving Marvin Bagley III, but they are wanting first-round value in return for him. Whether it is a draft pick, a young talent or both, the Kings need more future value, especially since they have not made the playoffs for 15 consecutive seasons now.

With Bagley’s role being minimal on this team right now and his management being frustrated with this situation, it is not far-fetched to believe a trade is on the horizon for the Kings involving their former second overall draft pick.

New Orleans is a team on the rise in the Western Conference and could definitely use the extra depth Marvin Bagley could supply them with. Do the Kings really want to trade Bagley to a team that they could wind up competing with for one of the final spots in the play-in tournament this season though?

Let’s take a look at what the New Orleans Pelicans could potentially offer up to try and land Marvin Bagley III from the Sacramento Kings.
