1. New Orleans Pelicans

The New Orleans Pelicans are off to a rough start in the 2021-22 season. They are starting a season without Zion Williamson for the second time in his three-year career as he rehabs from an operation on his foot.

The Pelicans are already in a 1-4 hole and it could get deeper. Williamson still remains without a timetable as he will be re-evaluated soon and he is working on his conditioning.

This is a worst-case scenario for David Griffin and the team’s front office. They were hopeful to make a playoff run and the race is on to make the Pelicans into a winner. The Pelicans are under immense pressure to make Williamson happy to ensure that he remains with the team long-term unlike Chris Paul and Anthony Davis before him.

Making a splash for someone such as Kyrie Irving might get the job done when it comes to appeasing Zion Williamson and showing him that the Pelicans are willing to do whatever it takes to build a winning roster.
