2. Dallas Mavericks
The Dallas Mavericks were on the search for a secondary ball-handler to add to the roster all offseason. They were unable to do so, as they focused instead on adding three-point shooting and defense to the roster.
Just because the Mavericks were unable to accomplish their goal during the offseason doesn’t mean they should stop pursuing a secondary ball-handler now. It is clear the Mavericks need to upgrade their roster and Kyrie Irving would be an excellent target.
Irving would take a lot of pressure off of Luka Doncic, who carries a lot of the offensive load on his shoulders. He is the sole creator of offense far too often when he is on the court, as the Mavericks lack other players that can be a playmaker for his teammates.
Irving would also provide the Mavericks with a more consistent second option than they currently have in Kristaps Porzingis. Porzingis has been frustrated with his role with the team and the organization has been looking to move on from him.

Swapping the two people seemingly falling out of favor with their respective organizations could be a win-win for both teams. This may be the best either of them could do for return packages for Porzingis and Irving as well.
