Does this trade make sense for the Toronto Raptors?

Trading Pascal Siakam can definitely have its advantage for the Toronto Raptors, but Masai Ujiri would need to have a plan in place when doing so. They are not going to just trade their All-Star forward and leader for nothing, especially since the fans in Toronto have really rallied behind Siakam being their leader moving forward with Kyle Lowry now gone.

While there is value to be had in this trade, it may not be the best offer Toronto can get around the league for Pascal Siakam.

The Sacramento Kings were a team this offseason highly interested in potentially trading for Siakam and the Golden State Warriors could also be another team to inquire about the forwards availability before the trade deadline this season.

Both of those teams have better draft assets and young talents that they could trade away than the Clippers do, so it would definitely be a long shot to assume that the Clippers can get any deal that they want done this year.

Adding Kennard and Morris would allow the Toronto Raptors to continue being who they are this year with a slight upgrade in three-point shooting, but both players are on long-term deals, which is not favorable to the Raptors.

Morris is under contract through the 2023-24 season with no opt out clauses and Kennard is under contract for one year after Morris, assuming the team would pick up his option for that season.

The Raptors are likely going to have to take a step back at some point and re-evaluate what they have on their roster, but trading Pascal Siakam to the Los Angeles Clippers does not really do anything to help further them as a contending team in the Eastern Conference, even with the potential future value they would be getting.
