Portland Trail Blazers
Keeping Damian Lillard long-term is the main goal of the Portland Trail Blazers, but they have not done a good job at setting themselves up for success. Lillard wants to win with this team, but Portland has not looked impressive to begin the 2021-22 season and they need some more bench depth.
Anfernee Simons is continuing to grow as a young backcourt option for this team and Nassir Little is another young player they have begun to utilize on the wing, but when you look at this Trail Blazers’ roster, it is hard to pinpoint a player as being an “x-factor” for them outside of guys like Lillard, McCollum, and Powell in the starting-unit.
Someone is going to have to step up for this team if they are going to be a threat to make it out of the first round of the playoffs this year, or even make the playoffs at this rate, which is why investing in an experienced veteran like Eric Gordon could make sense.
Much like the Los Angeles Clippers, the Portland Trail Blazers are tight on money right now and trading for Gordon would certainly push them over the tax line for this season, but he could be the missing offensive talent they need.

Moving Larry Nance Jr., who the team acquired this offseason, is a possibility for the Blazers in regards to acquiring Gordon, but they could also potentially leverage another veteran like Robert Covington, who is in the final year of his contract.
Covington has fit in well in Portland, but his upside is very limited at this point in his career and the defensive-minded forward has struggled on the offensive end of the floor to begin the 2021-22 season.
