Worst Trade Destination No. 2: Philadelphia 76ers

There have been some trade talks between the Philadelphia 76ers and Sacramento Kings in recent months. The Kings are one of the teams that have been inquiring about trading for Ben Simmons.

One of the players that have been discussed in the return package to Philadelphia has been Marvin Bagley III. While he would almost assuredly be in any deal for Simmons to help match salary, he should be hoping that isn’t where he is traded.

Doc Rivers is pretty consistent when it comes to his rotation. He is going to usually stick to 10 guys at the most on a given night. Removing Simmons and adding multiple players from the Kings will make for a tough situation when it comes to playing time for Bagley.

Andre Drummond and Georges Niang are the two frontcourt players currently coming off the bench. Rookie Charles Bassey is also on the roster as depth. It is hard to envision Bagley overtaking either Drummond or Niang to earn rotation minutes unless there is an injury.

Bagley certainly has untapped potential, but Philadelphia is unlikely to untap it given their current roster construction. For Bagley to unlock his skill set, he needs to go to a place that will be able to provide him with consistent playing time and the 76ers are not that place.
