Would this trade make sense for the San Antonio Spurs?

The benefit here for the San Antonio Spurs is simple. Beal has been one of the top scorers in the game for two years now — something a team looking to return to the postseason should be interested in.

The Spurs are not far from being a postseason contender, and Beal could put them over the top.

San Antonio clinched a spot in the play-in portion of the postseason. They were unable to get to series play, and this marked the second year in a row where the Spurs were unable to qualify for the postseason. No way sits well with a team that has been so used to winning.

Murray has looked like the real deal during his time in the league. Even after returning from a knee injury, the point guard looks like he will be good for a long time. The same can be said about Johnson. The backcourt is in place and would only improve with Beal being added.

Beal would give the Spurs that big-game player that can get it done at the end. He is a player who can create his own shot and take over a game when needed. This is needed for a team looking to get back in contention for the postseason.
