The Philadelphia 76ers and NBA All-Star Ben Simmons look to be moving in the right direction when it comes to mending at least a working relationship. Things will likely never be the same, as no one can take back what has been said, but they can work toward being cordial so that they can focus on the court.
At this point, no one is sure when Simmons will return to the court. He would like to play, but he has said that he is not mentally prepared to return to the team yet.
The 76ers will allow Simmons the time he needs to get mentally ready to return to the team. After the performance he had in the postseason when he looked like he lost all of his confidence, it could take some time.
The organization has made its stance clear. They would like for him to return to the court and play for them, especially if they aren’t receiving trade packages that meet their asking price.

They are willing to wait this out for the long haul, even if it lasts the duration of his contract.
That is something that would be bad for both parties, so finding a deal that works for the team and Simmons is still probably the best course of action. Could this deal with the Chicago Bulls be something that piques their interest?
