Why trading Kyrie Irving would be difficult
Kyrie Irving has always been someone that isn’t afraid to say what he wants to say. And when he says something, Irving is going to stick to his guns, for better or for worse.
There’s always the chance that Irving has a change of heart and he gets the vaccine to return to the Nets. However, I’d be hesitant if I were Brooklyn or another NBA franchise in thinking that Irving will suddenly alter his stance on getting the vaccine.
Given Irving’s drama everywhere he’s played, whether it’s been warranted or not, is something that isn’t going to entice teams to acquire him.
Also, there’s the fact that Kevin Durant is close friends with Irving — and convinced him to join the Nets in the first place — so trading Irving could affect Brooklyn’s relationship with Durant.

There’s also the fact that Irving is owed $35 million this season with a player option in 2022-23. Trading Kyrie Irving is easier said than done right now.
