New Orleans Pelicans Receive: G Tyler Herro
Miami Heat Receive: G Nickeil Alexander-Walker, F Herbert Jones, 2022 First-Round Pick (via LAL), 2022 Second-Round Pick (via CLE)
The clear headliner of this particular NBA trade scenario is Tyler Herro, who would be sent from the Miami Heat to the New Orleans Pelicans in exchange for Nickeil Alexander-Walker, Herbert Jones, a 2022 first-round pick (via Los Angeles Lakers), and a 2022 second-round pick.
Making a splash move at some point seems to be what the Pelicans will end up having to do in order to surround Zion Williamson with the necessary talent he needs to win.
New Orleans made a significant effort to sign players in free agency but whether it was Kyle Lowry or Tim Hardaway Jr., they were each willing to take substantially less money to sign elsewhere.
While the Pelicans managed to add Devonte’ Graham using a sign-and-trade, their sights need to still be set higher than that. Tyler Herro would be an intriguing possibility if he were an option.
