The New York Knicks have done a great job of building up their roster in recent NBA seasons. Leon Rose has not only cleaned the salary cap up but has put together a team that is deep across the board.
New York can go two or three deep at every position. There are 10-12 players that could make an argument to be in the rotation on a nightly basis. Head coach Tom Thibodeau is going to have his hands full figuring out who should receive minutes each game.
That kind of healthy competition is good for a team. It will motivate guys to bring it in practice where they could earn a spot in the rotation. One of the players on the outside looking in of that rotation right now is Kevin Knox II.
Knox was the No. 9 overall pick in the 2018 NBA Draft out of Kentucky. He was considered a raw prospect coming out of college but had a very high ceiling. Unfortunately, he has been unable to tap into that potential with the Knicks.

He had some promising stretches as a rookie but has seen his role shrink the last two seasons. Last season, the first with Tom Thibodeau, Knox found himself buried on the bench as he didn’t perform consistently enough defensively.
It looks to be much of the same this season. Maybe, a trade and change of scenery would be best for Knox. One possible landing spot could be the Oklahoma City Thunder. Let’s take a look at what a deal could look like between the Knicks and Thunder centered around Knox.
