How This Trade Impacts Golden State Warriors
The Golden State Warriors were looking to hit a home run during the offseason. They were unable to do that, but could still look to add some pieces during the season.
It would be a surprise to see them deal Andrew Wiggins and not receive an All-Star caliber player in return. Wiggins has been the centerpiece of those deals for salary purposes, so trading him could make it difficult to bring in another star to help their aging core of Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, and Draymond Green.
But, if they were to trade Wiggins but not in a blockbuster, adding veteran depth to the roster would be the goal. In this deal with the Utah Jazz, they accomplish that.
Bojan Bogdanovic would give Golden State some depth in the wing and another dead-eye shooter to help spread the floor offensively. He isn’t a stellar defender but would be a fit for their system offensively. He would help fill the scoring void until Thompson was up to speed.

Joe Ingles would provide the Warriors with some more playmaking from the wing. He is also an excellent 3-point shooter, giving Steve Kerr some real flexibility in the lineup combinations that he would want to use.
Golden State would also be getting some salary relief in this deal as Ingles is playing on an expiring deal. The Warriors would retain his Bird Rights if they chose to re-sign him next offseason as well.
