Los Angeles Lakers Receive: F Kenrich Williams
Oklahoma City Thunder Receive: C DeAndre Jordan, 2023 Second-Round Pick (via CHI), 2024 Second Round Pick (via WAS or MEM)

The Los Angeles Lakers and Oklahoma City Thunder come together on this hypothetical deal. This is one that would have to occur during the regular season, as the recently signed player restrictions aren’t lifted until November in some cases.

For this deal, the Lakers trade DeAndre Jordan to the Oklahoma City Thunder. Any of the players who signed a veteran’s minimum deal with the Lakers could be inserted in Jordan’s spot for this exercise.

Los Angeles would receive Kenrich Williams, who has turned into a solid rotation player with the Thunder following the first two seasons of his career with the New Orleans Pelicans.

For the Thunder, this trade is all about the second-round pick they will be acquiring. If there is a chance to acquire draft capital, Sam Presti and the Thunder are going to jump at it. Depending on when this deal is completed, Oklahoma City could then flip Jordan again for more assets.

Jordan would not appeal the Lakers from a talent standpoint, but would just be a necessary element to land another draft pick. If a trade was unable to be found, they would likely waive him so that he could find a new contending team to sign with.
