The Houston Rockets have drastically changed the makeup of their roster in recent NBA seasons. They were perennial contenders with Mike D’Antoni as head coach, but those days are in the past. They are now a team rebuilding for the future.

It was just over a year ago when the Rockets lost to the Los Angeles Lakers in the second round of the 2020 postseason in the Orlando Bubble. Just months later, things changed when D’Antoni was replaced by Stephen Silas as head coach.

A lot of the players that made the team contenders were beginning to be moved. It was a trend that had started even earlier, as ownership was looking to cut costs in any way possible.

Now, as we head toward the 2021-22 season, nearly every player from the D’Antoni era is no longer with the team.
