Things have not been smooth for Kevin Knox since he was drafted 9th overall by the New York Knicks in 2018 and is now in the final year of his rookie contract, his NBA future is very uncertain. Through three seasons in New York, Knox has averaged 8.5 points, 3.2 rebounds and has shot 36.9% from the floor.

His minutes are continuing to decline every month and now, Knox seems to be one of the last players on the Knicks’ roster. There really is no use for the young forward on this roster anymore, but he is staying optimistic heading into the new season.

Throughout the first week of team practices, Kevin Knox has told reporters several times that he is going to work hard to prove himself and he is not letting the trade rumors get to him.

Set to be a restricted free agent after this season, it would be very surprising to see the Knicks bring him back, but they may not have to worry about this. New York is almost definitely going to shop Kevin Knox both at the start of the regular season and around the NBA trade deadline, which is why it is feasible to believe a team will be willing to take a chance on him.

LATEST NBA NEWS & RUMORS: Knicks’ Kevin Knox II Remains Focused Despite Recent Trade Rumors

They are going to be contending for a playoff spot in the Western Conference, but the New Orleans Pelicans could be one of these teams to show interest in Kevin Knox. After all, this is a guy who was a Top-10 pick not too long ago and is still only 22-years-old.

Given time to develop and focus on one particular role, he could still be a somewhat decent NBA player off the bench, which is why New Orleans could be willing to take a chance on him.

The worst thing that can happen for the Pelicans is that Knox does not do anything for them and he becomes a free agent this offseason, in which case, they would just opt not to re-sign him.
