Kawhi Leonard – Los Angeles Clippers

The Los Angeles Clippers made their first-ever appearance in the Western Conference Finals last season, but it cost them Kawhi Leonard. The 2x Finals MVP did sign a new contract to remain in Los Angeles through the 2024-25 season, but he suffered a partially torn ACL in the Western Conference Semifinals against the Utah Jazz. 

Kawhi underwent surgery in the offseason and no timetable was initially laid out for his potential return when the Clippers first announced this injury. Now with training camp beginning, there is still no word of when Leoanrd will return for the Clippers. 

Head coach Ty Lue stated that he expects Kawhi Leonard to be with the team for the majority of the season, but he did note that Kawhi would be doing a lot of the rehabbing away from the team back at his home.

In terms of a projected recovery date, Kawhi Leonard himself did not offer much to reporters as he said that he is “Just working with the staff day-to-day.
