LA Clippers Receive: Goran Dragic
Toronto Raptors Receive: G Eric Bledsoe, 2022 Second-Round Pick
The Los Angeles Clippers continue to tinker with their backcourt in this deal with the Toronto Raptors. In this deal, they acquired Goran Dragic, who is on the move for the second time this offseason.
Dragic had his option picked up by the team, but it was to help facilitate a trade. He was part of the package from Miami that landed in Toronto in the Kyle Lowry sign-and-trade deal. To say he was not pleased would be an understatement.
Dragic said that he had higher ambitions than landing with the Raptors and that they were not his preferred choice when it came to which team to play with. He would later apologize, but at this point, moving on seems like the best for both parties.
To acquire Dragic, the Clippers are sending Eric Bledsoe and a 2022 second-round pick north of the border. Toronto is likely motivated to make this move just to put the Dragic situation behind them.

They receive a second-round pick for their troubles, as Bledsoe has two more years on his deal, but Dragic has one. Bledsoe’s contract isn’t entirely guaranteed for the 2022-23 season, so the Raptors could still have an out.
Bledsoe would likely fill a role off the bench behind Fred VanVleet and Gary Trent Jr. with the Raptors. How are the Clippers feeling about this deal? Let’s take a look at it from their perspective.
