Brandon Ingram – New Orelans Pelicans

Seeing as the New Orleans Pelicans acquired Jonas Valanciunas, Devonte’ Graham, Tomas Satoransky, and other key pieces this offseason, it is hard to imagine that they would look to move Brandon Ingram, their best/second-best talent, next to Zion Williamson, but there could be a three or four-team trade scenario in which the Pelicans could get a ton of future value by sacrificing Ingram now.

Entering his 6th season in the NBA, Brandon Ingram has cemented himself as one of the best small forwards in the NBA and recently signed a significant contract extension last year with New Orleans, keeping him under contract through the 2024-25 season.

In his first two seasons with the Pelicans, Ingram has averaged 23.8 points per game each season and has shot not only 46.4% from the floor but 38.6% from three-point range.

At just 24-years-old and having the length he does, Brandon Ingram has a chance to grow into a great two-way player in this league, especially since he is already an All-Star for what he can do on offense.

Swapping defense for offense is not a terrible idea whatsoever for the 76ers, especially since offense is where they have been vulnerable. At times with Ben Simmons on the court, the 76ers are essentially playing 4-on-5 since Simmons is not a threat to score outside of the paint.

Adding Brandon Ingram to their roster opens things up tremendously not only for some of the Sixers’ shooters but also for Joel Embiid, who would see a lot more one-on-one scoring opportunities.

Seeing as the Pelicans are a team on the rise in the league and Brandon Ingram is one of their young stars, it is hard to see them trading Ingram for Simmons.

The Philadelphia 76ers really are stuck at the moment and unless they are willing to come down on their price for the 3x All-Star “point guard,” Ben Simmons could very well hold out, resulting in him getting fined upwards of $1.3M to start.
