3 Trade Targets For Phoenix Suns Entering Training Camp

Coming off an appearance in the NBA Finals for the first time since 1993, the Phoenix Suns are looking to prove to everyone that last season was not a “fluke” in terms of them winning the Western Conference only because other teams in the Western Conference were banged up and hurt.

Chris Paul in his first season with the Suns took them to places they have not been in a while and with a ton of other young, high-level talents in Devin Booker, Deandre Ayton, Mikal Bridges, and others, this Phoenix team is not going anywhere anytime soon.

The Suns made some key additions in JaVale McGee and Landry Shamet this offseason to help them with overall depth, but they may not be done making moves just yet.

They do not have any trade exceptions to use on new contracts coming in, but Dario Saric ($8.5M) and Jalen Smith ($4.4M) are two guys they could look to move to upgrade their overall talent.

Smith is still a young prospect that needs to develop more before he contributes to a championship-caliber team like the Suns and Saric is currently out as he recovers from an ACL injury he suffered in the NBA Finals.

Whether or not teams are willing to trade for these two players is a whole other question, but the Suns could wind up pursuing some other high-level talents before and during training camp in preparation for the 2021-22 season. With this said, let’s take a look at three potential trade targets for the Phoenix Suns.
