2. Kristaps Porzingis

The Dallas Mavericks didn’t make a selection in the 2021 NBA Draft, as they chose not to trade into the foray to make a selection. That may have been a financial move, as the Mavericks will assuredly be active during free agency.

Dallas has to start building this roster up around superstar guard Luka Doncic. The Kristaps Porzingis trade has backfired on them, as he has been unable to perform as Doncic’s sidekick consistently. His performance in the playoffs may have been the last straw for Dallas.

There isn’t much trade interest in Kristaps Porzingis right now is reportedly minimal. That could change depending on how free agency goes for teams. If a team’s Plan A doesn’t come to fruition, they could pivot to a Plan B that includes acquiring the high-prized Latvian.

Kristaps Porzingis can still be a difference-maker for a team, and it just doesn’t look like it will be for Dallas. He is reportedly unhappy with his role on the team, feeling that he is more of an afterthought than 1B to Doncic’s 1A.
