Can the Warriors afford to not make a move before the season?
The good news for the Golden State Warriors is that Klay Thompson will make his return to the team this season. The bad news is that Thompson likely won’t make his debut this season until Christmas.
Given that, can the Warriors afford not to make a move before the season begins? We’ve seen Golden State attempt to rely on younger players to aid Stephen Curry and Draymond Green in recent years.
However, doing so cost them a playoff berth last season. This offseason, the Warriors elected to use both of their lotteries picks in the 2021 NBA Draft on Moses Moody and Jonathan Kuminga.
While both of them have the potential to become key contributors, it remains to be seen if they have an immediate impact on a team that needs to maximize their window with Curry, Thompson, and Green.
