The Cleveland Cavaliers were rather active on the trade market this offseason. They pulled off numerous trades, but none involved the player mentioned most in NBA trade rumors, Collin Sexton.

Cleveland’s first trade was with the Minnesota Timberwolves. They acquired Ricky Rubio from the Minnesota Timberwolves in exchange for Taurean Prince, a 2022 second-round pick via the Washington Wizards and cash. A traded player exception was created as well.

That drove even more rumors that Sexton could be on the move. Cleveland had just acquired a veteran point guard in Rubio that could help hold things down alongside Darius Garland in the backcourt.

Alas, the draft came and went and Sexton was still on the team. Cleveland held onto the No. 3 overall pick, selecting USC center Evan Mobley.

Recently, Cleveland partook in a three-team deal with the Portland Trail Blazers and Chicago Bulls. Lauri Markkanen landed with the Cavaliers as part of a sign-and-trade on a four-year, $67 million deal. Larry Nance Jr. went out to the Trail Blazers, while a protected first-round pick via Portland and Derrick Jones Jr. went to Chicago.

Again, another trade not involving Sexton. Throughout the offseason, he was one of the more popular trade rumor targets as he and the organization were struggling to find common ground on an extension.

If that continues, he will draw some interest around the league. One team that could look into acquiring him is the San Antonio Spurs. What could a deal look like? Let’s take a look.
